Chandler's workmate tries to fix him up with a man. He asks everyone what it is about him that makes them think he is gay, and they say he just has a quality. Paolo calls Rachel from Rome. Monica and Ross find out their maternal grandmother has died. They go to the hospital where she comes back to life for a moment then finally dies. Phoebe believes that her dead mother is still with her, and that probably the grandmother is around somewhere too.
Chandler thinks that is he was gay he would be going out with someone good looking like Brian. His workmate thinks Brian is out of Chandler's league.
Ross chooses clothes for his grandmother to wear at her funeral with his mother and aunt, and becomes nostalgic about her things. At the funeral Joey is listening to baseball on a concealed radio. Ross is so busy thinking about a pair of shoes that Paolo sent Rachel from Rome that he falls in a grave. At the wake his mother gives him some 'pills' to make him feel better, and they certainly work. He declares his love for everybody and ruins Chandler's chances with a girl he meets named Andrea. Monica finds out that her grandmother picked on everything her mother did, just like her mother does to her. Jack notices Joey's radio, and soon there's a large group of men listening to the game.
Back at Central Perk, they're looking at some old photos of Judy's mother and friends in a coffee house just like Central Perk. And some naked pictures of Ross as a child raise a cheap laugh.
end credits: a gay man tells Chandler he doesn't have a quality.
best bit: Jack Geller wants to be buried at sea.
