Rachel is sick of being a waitress, so everyone helps her create loads of resumes and envelopes and covering letters to apply for jobs. This process suffers a setback when Ross notices a spelling mistake. She has no luck with the applications anyway. Ross and Chandler are making fun of Joey because he mistook a three for an eight playing poker the night before. The girls want to know why they can't all play poker together. They don't know how to, so Ross Chandler and Joey try to teach them, and when they play the first game, the girls lose. Ross explains to Rachel that when the cards are dealt, he's "not a nice guy." Marcel is driving Ross mad by playing the same piece of music constantly. Rachel gets an interview at Sach's on Fifth Avenue. Monica's Aunt Iris, who was/is a champion poker player, comes to the girls' flat to teach them poker. Rachel has had a job interview with someone called Barbara, which went really well, and she thinks she will get the job. Rachel. Phoebe and Monica play Ross, Chandler and Joey again at poker. Rachel is waiting for a phone call about the job. The guys win again, then Rachel wins a game. In the next game only Ross and Rachel are left in, and Ross loses. Rachel makes fun of Ross. Barbara phones in the middle of a round, and Rachel hasn't got the job. Rachel wants to keep playing, and when only she and Ross are left in, she starts raising the bets. Ross pretends that Rachel's beaten him, because he loves her and she's so upset about the job.
