Ross is reminded of Marcel by a Monkeyshine beer advert. Joey has his first piece of fan mail, but as it was hand delivered, it appears to be from a stalker, which pleases him even more. Ross has a paleontology conference in LA which he can combine with a visit to Marcel. A man called Rob comes into Central Perk wanting Phoebe to play songs for children because he thinks she's great. The stalker comes to Joey's and Chandler's flat, and they're ready to whack her with a frying pan, but she turns out to be beautiful, so Joey asks her (Erika) out, even though she's insane, and thinks he actually is Dr Ramoray. At the zoo, Ross is told that Marcel died. Pheobe is nervous about playing for the children, but when Rob kisses her she feels a lot better, and starts with The Grandma Song. Meanwhile Joey is having lunch with Erika. Erika is admiring his hands Paolo style, but then a man starts choking and she announces to everyone that he's a doctor. Phoebe finishes her set with Another Thing You Don't Wanna Do, but Rob tells her that parents would rather she played songs about farm animals. Back at the zoo a mad zoo keeper informs Ross conspiratorially that Marcel is alive, was stolen during an inside job, and is now working in entertainment. In fact Marcel is the Monkeyshine monkey. While everyone is watching Days of Our Lives, Erika shows up looking for a character called Sabrina who Dr Ramoray had kissed on screen. Joey tries to tell her that he's only an actor, but it takes some inspired invention from the others to finally get rid of her, and she goes off to seek Dr Ramoray. Phoebe is fired for playing inappropriate songs, as Barnyard Animals did not go down too well. Ross finds out that Marcel is filming Outbreak 2: The Virus Takes Manhattan in NYC. Phoebe is cheered up when loads of children come to Central Perk wanting to hear her because she tells the truth. At the film set, Marcel doesn't seem to notice Ross until he starts singing Marcel's favourite song.
end credits: Phoebe and Rob perform a duet of Smelly Cat.
