They're talking about dating terms and euphemisms. Ross realises his dog died, and wasn't sent to live on a farm like his parents told him.
Chandler and Joey are reading scripts. Joey can't get the hang of smoking which the part involves, so Chandler shows him how it's done.
Rachel is a really bad waitress, bringing everyone the wrong drinks. Phoebe is upset because her bank account has been credited with $500. Chandler is now addicted to smoking again, after three years without cigarettes, and Ross is upset about the dog.
Monica's date is called Alan.
Phoebe complains to the bank, and they give her another $500. She gives the lot to a homeless woman called Lizzy in return for a can of soda, in which she finds a human thumb.
The others try to make Chandler quit smoking, but only a phone call from Alan is successful in this.
Phoebe is given $7000 compensation because of the thumb. Monica announces she is leaving Alan.

everyone except Monica is upset about Alan. Chandler threatens to start smoking again, so Phoebe gives him her $7000 not to.
