Monica takes Rachel to the hospital after her accident in the last episode. Rachel doesn't have any medical insurance so Monica reluctantly agrees to let Rachel pretend to be Monica and use hers. Ross doesn't think he's ready to be a father. Joey arranges to take Ursula to the Rainbow Room on her birthday and buys her a dress which Phoebe thinks is for her when he asks her to try it for size. Rachel and Monica fall for Rachel's doctors and ask them out. There's a surprise birthday party for Phoebe, but she's upset that Joey's not there. Ross asks his father if he got panicky when he realised he was going to be a father. Jack says that he first realised that he was going to be a father when the baby Ross squeezed his hand. The two doctors arrive for their date with Rachel and Monica, who are still pretending to be each other. Rachel wants to tell them the truth, and when Monica won't she says that Monica is becoming more and more like her mother. In revenge Monica as Rachel starts saying spiteful things about herself, and Rachel retaliates to the embarrassment of the doctors. Monica has the last laugh as Rachel's father phones and she tells him that she slept with someone in his bed at High School.
Next day Rachel tries to explain to her father. The hospital phones to say there's a problem with the insurance form, and Rachel agrees that insurance fraud is not worth the risk. Joey was stood up by Ursula. Phoebe goes to see Ursula, and Ursula gives Joey's dress back to Phoebe as a present to her, and says that she won't call Joey, as he's smart enough to figure it out. Marcel swallows a scrabble piece and Ross and Chandler rush him to hospital, where Rachel and Monica are filling out more forms. Phoebe pretends to be Ursula and dumps Joey. He says that she looks more beautiful than ever and kisses her, then realises it's Phoebe. Dr Mitchell, who agreed to look at Marcel, finds a K, an M and an O in him. Marcel wakes up and squeezes Ross's hand.
