Rachel asks Terry for a $100 advance so she can go skiing with her parents at Thanksgiving. He won't do it because she's such a bad waitress. Joey gets a modelling job to do with some disease, but he doesn't know which disease yet. They all make arrangements for Thanksgiving. Joey, Ross and Monica are going home to their parents, and Chandler wants nothing to do with Thanksgiving because of his parents' divorce.
Ross goes to collect a skull from Carol and Susan's flat. Carol isn't there, but Susan is, and she tells him that she talks to the unborn baby. Ross is very sceptical of this. Everyone chips in $20 so that Rachel can see her family. Joey is chatting up a girl who was an Obsession girl at Macy's (nice shop), but she leaves when she sees his portrait on a poster warning about VD.
Joey can't go home because his family thinks he has VD, the Gellers are going on holiday, and Phoebe would rather not be with her grandmother and lover, so Monica decides to cook Thanksgiving dinner herself for everyone. But Joey, Ross and Phoebe all want the food the way their mothers cooked it. Ross goes back to Carol's place to talk to the baby because anything Susan can do he can do better. When he sings the baby gives its first kick.
Back at the flat everyone rushes onto the roof to see Underdog, an 80 foot balloon of a cartoon character, which has escaped from a parade below. When they get back down no one has a key to the flat, so the dinner is burning and Rachel can't get to her plane ticket. When they finally get back in and Ross gets back, everyone starts arguing, which reminds Chandler of Thanksgivings at his house. Ugly Naked Guy's there to save the day though, and they have cheese sandwiches.
