She moved to Los Angeles to work with her father, a
headache specialist, where she might have remained to this day if not for one
of her brother's friends, actor/comedian Jon Lovitz, who inspired her to
perform. Lisa auditioned for the famous improvisational theatre group The
Groundlings, and although not accepted, was referred to Cynthia Szigeti, an
improvisation teacher, in whose class she met and became close friends with
Conan O'Brien (Late Night with Conan O'Brien). |
In 1989 her dream of being a writer/performer became a
reality when she became a member of The Groundlings. In addition to her role on
Friends, Lisa has starred in several successful movies and appeared in
TV shows such as Cheers, and Hope & Gloria. In her free time
she performs with the improv. group The Transformers and teaches and performs
at The Groundlings. Lisa played varsity-level tennis in college and is a pool
shark who has mastered some difficult trick shots. She lives with her husband
in Los Angeles. |
