But who's the most loopy?
The Contenders:
(you'll notice no mention of Joey or Phoebe, as although sometimes they say and do strange things, they're nowhere near as relentlessly bonkers as some of these people.)
Mr Heckles
"you're disturbing my dinner party", "you're disturbing my oboe practice", etc.
Erika Ford
She thinks Joey is Drake Ramoray and sends him a letter containing 15 eyelashes. Later she fails to understand how Drake can be in the room with her and on TV at the same time, until Ross explains that Joey is Drake's evil twin Hans.
(from episode 2.12)
"Alright I got a funny one, alright. My last girlfriend Tilly OK we're eating breakfast right and I made all these pancakes there was like 50 pancakes right and all of a sudden she turns to me, alright, and says 'Eddie' I say 'yeah' she says 'Eddie I don't want to see you any more' and it was literally like she had reached into my chest, ripped out my heart and smeared it all over my life you know, it's like this incredible abyss you know and I'm falling and I'm falling and I don't think I'm ever going to stop."
pause
"That, er wasn't such a funny story was it."
(from episode 2.18)
Later on he accuses Chandler of sleeping with Tilly and killing his fish. He also watches Chandler sleeping, keeps dehydrating fruit for no apparent reason, and is easily fooled by Chandler and Joey into thinking he never lived with Chandler.
Ugly Naked Guy
Anyone who spends their entire life naked must be a little bit odd.
"Ah, the bat, ambassador of darkness, flitting out of his cave like a winged messenger, sightless spectre of the macabre."
Ross-"buddy, my monkey"
later:
"ah hello Mr possum, enigma of the trees, upside-down denizen of the night, taunting gravity with your"
Ross-"buddy my monkey"
later:
"that's all I know"
Ross- "this is unbelievable!"
"so what is this information worth to you my friend?"
Ross- "are you trying to get me to bribe you?"
"maybe"
Ross- "but you already told me everything."
long pause
(from episode 2.12)
The manager
Monica- "I'm tearing the lettuce."
"Is it dirty?"
"Oh no, don't worry, I'm going to wash it"
"Don't, I like it dirty."
etc.
( from episode 2.14)
And the winner is:
Eddie. I'm afraid he's nuttier than a fruitcake.
