I knew this movie was going to be bad, after all, Ben Affleck is in it. It is also stupifyingly long. But I was also reliably informed that the attack sequence in the middle of the movie was spectacular. I was misinformed. This is one of the only movies I have walked out of. Usually I will see a movie through to the bitter end, but in this case I was concerned with the possibility of dying of extreme old age and boredom before it reached the end. Ben Affleck is dismal, and Josh Hartnett is worse. Kate Beckinsale looks pretty and she does have acting ability; if they'd only hired a screenwriter her character might have stood a chance. The only glimmer of hope was when I thought the Ben Affleck character was dead, but then he ruined everything by turning up again unharmed.
