"It's those darn tootin' technical terms Martha"
Begad. this page needs a little work, methinks.
- Aerobic exercise
- Anaerobic exercise
- Catalyst- something that affects a chemical
reaction. Metabolic catalysts speed up a reaction, anabolic reactions slow it
down.
- DNA- DeOxyribonucleic Acid
- Enzyme
- Food Chain
- Monosaccharide
- Weight training- how it works:
OK right, when you lift weights you actually damage the muscles that do it.
This is OK though because the body can repair itself, which it does better when
you are young. Anyway, it does this and overcompensates, making your muscles
bigger than they were before. Clever huh? This is why you should have adequate
rest periods between exercising muscle groups or you will make no real
progress. The thing to do in weight training is to make slow, smooth movements
and to maximise the range of movement.
