Why do people complain? On the one hand it's a good thing, because if you don't kick up a fuss people will walk all over you and deliver a shoddy service etc. It's got a lot to do with freedom, because freedom is something you have to fight for every day of your life, not something that you get and then keep. But, but, but, why do I see so many "daft" people campaigning and complaining about all and sundry. Let's take fox hunting. Now being allergic to horses I have never come close to doing this, but it seems to me to be a normal, acceptable sport like any other. OK, so maybe the fox does get torn to pieces by hounds, but what do you think would happen if there was no fox hunting? Foxes are a darn nuisance for farmers in terms of eating chickens, so is shooting, poisoning, being trapped etc. less cruel than being kept under control by hunting? Also hunting, eating, maiming and the rest of it goes on all the time in nature. Are we to ban all carnivorous animals to avoid cruelty to their prey? I think not. Of course one could argue that hunting in nature is acceptable because animals have to eat, but that fox hunting is done purely for fun and is therefore different. But again, if you let a fox loose in a chicken coop, it'll kill most of them but only eat or carry off a few, so what's going on there? Nature is replete with animals which kill for the sheer fun of it, such as mink, and if we believe Michael Crichton, Velociraptors. So from now on I'm going to campaign to ban those who would ban fox hunting.

Drug testing and vegetarianism. Now drug testing is probably very cruel to animals, but not as cruel as those who are against it claim. Most people in this country are probably against drug testing on animals, but what they don't realise is that this is the only way to test new drugs. And what happens when these people get ill? They go to the doctor and are given drugs. Well maybe I'm wrong about some people but anyone who is against drugs testing on animals and takes drugs to deal with illness is a twisted hypocrite in my book, I don't care how ill they are. It's the same with electricity. Everyone wants to be able to plug in their stupid electrical appliances, but no-one wants a power station next to their house. You can't have it both ways! Now vegetarianism. I am not a vegetarian myself but I do not eat meat. Now this might not seem do make any sense, but what I mean is that I do very occasionally eat meat, but I do not do so regularly. This has nothing to do with cruelty or BSE or anything like that, it's just that meat is not very good for you. I realized something this morning however. I would never hurt any animal (humans are not included in this) (that's not to say I hurt humans) (not to speak of anyway) but if I eat meat then the animal has been hurt very badly and killed but by someone else. So this is very cowardly, getting someone else to kill, cut up and prepare animals while I outwardly claim to love them. So I see a person who eats meat as worse than a person who tortures kittens, because at least they're not deceiving themselves. From now on I will be a vegetarian, but I will eat fish and chicken as I like fish, and chickens are mindless creatures. By the way, if you become a vegetarian because of cruelty to animals, have a think about how cruel it is to pull a plant out by its roots. It is by no means obvious that they do not feel pain.

Oh, so it's you again. Well, whaddaya want?
